Up & Over Garage Doors

Up & over garage doors come in two types of gear either Canopy or Retractable. The main difference between the two is in the action the door takes to open. Up & over garage doors come in a variety of materials such as Steel, Timber, Upvc & GRP. All up & over garage doors require a frame to fit to, this can be either Timber or Steel (Steel would be our recommendation).

The Canopy Gear: -

Hörmann canopy geared doors are tested and certified according to the high safety requirements and performance characteristics of the European Standard 13241-1. This gives you the reassurance that your purchase of a Hörmann up & over doors is a safe investment. It’s worthwhile making a comparison.

 

Everything is perfectly matched: the precision vertical track guidance, the smooth running plastic rollers, the plastic profiles down the sides (no steel to steel contact) and the galvanised torsion spring. All this giving the door a smooth, quiet door action.

 

Hörmann offers a steel fixing frame for all canopy doors. This frame makes an on site timber frame redundant and makes it quick and easy to fit.

 

Two point locking as standard with hard PVC latches in tough zinc diecast housings that engage automatically and quietly at either side of the door into steel latch keeps.

Four point locking arrangement is available as a factory fitted optional extra.

 

Factory-fitted profile cylinder locking is as a standard feature. Two keys are provided for outside locking. Inside locking is by a snib positioned on the lockbody. An internal “star” handle is also supplied. Master key locking is an optional feature.

• Anti-fall safeguard fitted as standard to prevent injury if cables break.
• Tracks designed in such a way so that its impossible for the roller to derail.
• Door clips to keep the door open, not allowing the wind to blow it down.
• Protective cover strips on the frame & door leaf to prevent trapped fingers.
• Door cables are internally guided.
• Cables run on a cast alloy drum with deep grooves to ensure the cables fit securely & prevents the cables jumping.
• The thickest 2.4mm cable on the market.

• Unique track well: Once fully opened the door is gently cushioned and always brought to a safe, reliable halt in the track well.

• Flexible plastic profiles down the sides act as reliable side trap guards between the door & frame.
• The distance between the spring windings is so small that even children’s fingers are reliably protected.

Both types of gear are available with a sturdy steel frame. They a galvanised steel, welded into a wide robust box section construction which gives the door frame great strength and stability. The finish is powder coated. Frames are 75mm wide as standard with the option of a 60mm wide on Canopy gear.

Steel doors come Bright White Ral 9016 as standard but you can choose a colour from these optional extra colours.

Timber doors…

 

Fully finished options.
Wood needs protecting. That’s why in addition to the factory impregnation it is important to apply a pigmented wood preservative to a timber garage door in order to protect it against atmospheric influences and the Effects of uv rays.

 

You can thus blend in the door with the timber elements of your property. At Hörmann we offer nine colour options as fully finished factory coat.
